DOWNTOWN COVINGTON CONGESTION MANAGEMENT

Dana Brown & Associates helped with conducting a comprehensive study focusing on improving traffic circulation, parking, signage, and safety for all transportation modes for Downtown Covington. The project focused specifically around a five-block area along the Tammany Trace with the goal of incorporating bicyclists into the urban landscape. While respecting the historic legacy of the downtown area, the goal is to create a unique corridor dedicated to enhancing the pedestrian and bicyclist experience with smart design, wayfinding, and promotion of awareness of bicycle riders and pedestrians. Branding of the Tammany Trace, consolidated and clear signage, and traffic configuration are all key aspects of creating a more functional and safer corridor.
